Tag You're It Challenge #41

Another beautiful day today, and a perfect day at the courts with my husband!  Great playing and fun practice---thanks husband!

There is a challenge over at Tag You're It, so it you haven't had a chance to check it out, there is still time to play along!  Kara created this fun inspiration tag!  I just love the cute little critters.  This gives me the opportunity to use a fun stamp that I received in my Christmas stocking from Santa (okay, my son!)

Here is my take on the tag...I was inspired by the little critters!  We would love to see what you come up with, so come and join us!

This tag gave me the opportunity to practice my coloring, since I simply stamped the main image and colored it with my copic markers.

I then stamped the sentiment and added the twine!

Very simple!

CAS on Sunday Challenge - One Layer

Time for another challenge over at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this week is a One Layer Card! Come on over and join the challenge!

I love doing one layer cards, because I find it quite challenging to refrain from popping something up on foam tape :)

Here's my take on the challenge!

I stamped the bunny, then masked it off before stamping the eggs. After stamping each egg, I masked each one to provide a little dimension to the card. I used my black marker to add a bit of detail to the eggs in an effort to bring a bit more interest to the card.  I then used my copics to color the image.

A very simple CAS card!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I'm also submitting this card to CASology, as their theme is egg!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Alley Way Stamp Set

Addicted to CAS #82 - Home

It's time for another challenge over at Addicted to CAS!  Come on over and check out what our wonderful guest designer and design team members have created for this challenge.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Create A Smile Stamps!  If you haven't had a chance to check out what they offer, you have to do so now!  They have a terrific assortment of fun and whimsical stamps!  I love their selection.  And simply by joining us for this challenge, you have a chance to win a gift card to their store!
The theme for this challenge is Home.  Here's my take on the code word...

I started by die cutting the initial card stock to a standard size card.  I then cut the square using my stitched square die.  I used distress ink for the background sky and to ink up some of my green hill to give a bit of dimension.

I then stamped, colored and die cut my houses. I adhered them to the background.  I then popped up the white boarder with foam tape.  Stamped my sentiment and heart!  Then added the clouds to the white frame.

All in all a simple card!

Come on over to Addicted to CAS and join in on the fun! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Just Because

It is a beautiful day today and I'm catching up with my yard work.  Just trimmed down some bushes and hoping for some beautiful flowers in a few months!

I always love the challenge of a one layer card and enjoy trying something new.  In this case, I found some old stamps that I had for other project before I started making cards.  I bought these stamps for $1.50 at Michael's---what a deal!  And they stamp beautifully!

I started this card by creating my doodle frame from an older stamp set I had.  Then I found these cute little flowers from my $1.50 purchase!  I stamped black ink, then colored with copics.

I added the sentiment at the bottom (from a more recent stamp set!)  To finish off the card, I added a bit of wink of stella to the flowers (can't really see the sparkle in the photograph).

I thought I would enter this into the challenge at Less is More One Layer Challenge with stems. They also have a design team call there and I thought I would throw my card into the hat!  Wish me luck!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope you are having a great day with your loved ones!  We had a busy day, an unconventional Valentine's Day, we cleaned the garage!  Actually, we purchased a new love seat yesterday, and need to get rid of our old chair, so we decided to do a bit of early spring cleaning!

Anywho, I have a few minutes this afternoon to finish up my last Valentine's Day card.

I made a similar tag a few days ago, and decided I liked it so much that I wanted to make it into a card.  I love this technique to make the clouds in the background.

I started by stamping the bee, then masking it.  I inked up the background clouds then unmasked and colored my bee with copic markers.  I stamped the heart trail and the sentiment.  I then adhered the panel to card stock and added a few more hearts!

Pretty simple!

I'm going to submit this card to the CASology Challenge #184.

CASology Challenge - Valentine

Happy Friday!  My husband and I have a fun day planned.  We are heading out to play some tennis, then off to lunch. After lunch, we are going to look at some new furniture---we are looking for a love seat for our back room.  Then, I have a hike scheduled with some friends late in the afternoon!

Before I head out for the day, I have a quick post.  I made this card a few days ago, but just now have a second to post it.  Just in time for Valentine's Day!

I love using bright colors so this image is just perfect for my card!

I simply stamped the sentiment and colored it with copic markers. I then cut the card stock with some layered rectangles, to give this CAS card some added interest.

Turns out to be a very simple one layer card!

I'm entering this card in the most current CASology Challenge #184.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a terrific day!

CAS on Sunday - Valentine

For those of you in the United States hope you are enjoying your Super Bowl Sunday.  Maybe this gives you a bit of extra time in the craft room :)  If so, come on and join us at CAS on Sunday #76. Our theme for this challenge is Valentine!

Here's what I came up with...

This is the perfect card for my husband...he generally likes the cute little monsters and while this is just two colors, he likes a splash of color!

This is a simple card...I started by using the Circle Burst Die to cut the card front.  I then stamped and colored my monster. I added the sentiment, then used foam tape to pop up the main panel and adhered it to some red card stock.

I like how it turned out...and on top of that it was pretty quick to make!

Hope to see what you come up with!

  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Bazzill Peppermint Card Stock

ATCAS Challenge #81 - Bloom

I'm getting ready to head off to another tennis match.  The season has started and the rain has stopped for the moment so today's match should be a go...wish me luck!

We also have a challenge over at Addicted to CAS. Come over and join in!  Our host for this challenge is Bhavana and we have a wonderful sponsor Eureka Stamps!  Come on over and see what the team has come up with and play along!

Here's what I came up with...

I decided to make a card with all dies and no stamping!

I started off my die cutting the leaves with a light green card stock.  I then used distressed ink to provide some shading.  I then decided to cut the same leaves with vellum to provide a bit of depth.  I then die cut the flowers in a variety of pink/red colors. I added a bit of distressed ink to the flowers as well.

I die cut the sentiment and adhered that to the bottom of the card...then added a few sequins to the middle of each flower.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Tag You're It Challenge #39 - Bee Mine

Good morning, a busy week on this end.  My husband's birthday was last week, but we have been celebrating all month long.  Today, we have a few errands to run, and after that a bit of relaxation! Yeah, I'm pooped!

We have another challenging going on over at Tag You're It Challenge #39.  Come on over and join us.  Here's the tag I created for the challenge:

I've been wanting to try this method of making clouds. Thought this would be the perfect time!

I first stamped my bee and created a mask.  I then created a mask for my clouds and use a bit of distressed ink to add dimension.  I was a bit nervous, but I really like how it turned out!

I then colored the bee and stamped the heart trail and the sentiment.

Easy!

Here is the inspiration tag from Jen!  She inspired me to do a Valentine themed card. Since I have a bit of trouble using pink in my projects, I thought I would use her red heart as inspiration.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, come on over and join us as we would love to see what you come up with!
