Less is More - Sketch

Christmas is nearly here...yeah....while super chilly outside, it is so sunny that it is not quite feeling like Christmas!  Guess we better take advantage of the good weather...it may not last!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More.  This is a two week challenge, and our theme is a sketch.  Here's the sketch...and my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I like making inlaid die cards because it is so much easier to mail.  So I did that with this card.  It was a bit tricky with all of the balloons, but worth the effort!

I used distress ink to color my balloons.  Stamped the sentiment and felt that it needed a bit more, so I added a few stars!

I drew the balloon strings and all done!

Here's a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Another beautiful week...though it has been a bit cool in the mornings.  Our tree is up and we are slowing getting some gifts to make it festive.

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More.  Our theme for this week is Birds or Feathers.  I had lots of ideas for this one, but in the end, I ran out of time and decided to go with this simple card.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Super quick and easy card.  I cut some card stock with this fun die from Lawn Fawn.  Then stamped my image and sentiment.  I added a bit of snowflakes to the simple grey background and done.

Here's a close up of the image.  I colored it with copic markers.

Addicted to CAS - Sparkle

We are excited about getting the tree up and decorated.  A bit afraid of how the puppy with react, but we'll see....should be fun!

We have a new challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS.  Our theme for this challenge is Sparkle.  Lots of different ideas for this one, but I opted to go for a non-Christmas card.  Here's my take on the challenge...

I stamped the main image and colored this little sassy character with Copic markers.  I then added the sentiment and a few of the little sparkle things.  I then cut this border and colored it with the matching copic markers.  Pretty simple!

Here's a close up of the image.  You can see I used the inlaid die technique for the blue border.  It makes it much easier for mailing.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Super simple for mass production...and a cute 4x4 size!

Less is More - Let It Shine

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Here in the US we have a nice long weekend!  It has been a beautiful mild weathered weekend....tomorrow a bit of rain is scheduled, but other than that it feels like spring!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More today.  Our theme for this challenge is Let it Shine...use something shiny or glittery on your card.  Lots of opportunity to for that for the holidays!  I have several birthday's this time of the year, so I'm focusing on a few birthday cards!  Here's my take on the challenge...

This has become one of my go to birthday cards.  Simple, yet packs a punch!

I cut the sentiment image from some shiny silver paper...hard to see in this photo, but super shiny!

I added a few pink and red sequins and some shiny silver squares and stars.

Super fun and quick card to make!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I simply stamped this Stamping Bella image on white card stock and colored it with my copic markers.  I then decided to use this fun scallop die cut for a bit of extra interest.  I colored the scalloped portion with my copic markers in a color that matches the main image.

Here's a bit of a close up of the image.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Challenge

We had a bit of spotty rain this week.  Good thing it happened on my rest day, so I was able to get in lots of tennis and dog walking!

We have another challenge starting today at Less is More.  The team has generously invited me to host this new challenge...so here is my inspiration.  Head on over to see what the team has created for you.  We are looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I'm finally getting into the Christmas vibe and getting my cards organized.  This is a quick and easy card...where I simply stamped my image, die cut it and colored it with copic markers.  I added a bit of foam tape for dimension and a few stars to give it a bit of sparkle.

Addicted to CAS - Bows

We are expecting a bit of a wet weekend...here's to the first rain of the season!

We have another challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS. Our theme for today is Bows!  Just perfect for the Christmas season.  I have a long way to go to finish up Christmas Cards.  But finally feel like I have the time to get rolling!

Here's my take on the challenge...

This is a simple card.  I die cut the card base with this thin border die.  I then stamped my images and colored them with Copic makers.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella on the bright red bow.  I then stamped my sentiment. I then colored my thin border with the same red I used in the bow.  I thought it needed just a little extra, so I added a few silver stars.

Pretty quick and easy Christmas card!

Here's a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Fireworks

A bit of rain to start the weekend.  I guess it is good...we don't want to head into a drought...if only, it would rain when I'm not scheduled to play tennis :)

We have a new challenge starting today at Less is More!  Our theme for this color challenge is Fireworks.  I choose to go with red as it is always bright against a dark sky. Check out what the rest of the team came up with...lots of great ideas!  And you have two weeks to play along...we are extending the challenge and extra week!

Here's my take on the challenge...

This is a super simple card.  I stamped the sentiment and the fireworks.

I added a strip of black glitter paper, though difficult to see the sparkle in this photo.  I stamped some fireworks on the red border at the bottom of the card with a embossing ink to create a tone on tone look.

Less is More - Overstamping

I'm taking the day off tennis...a little too much in the last several weeks.  I need to rest these old bones :)

We have another challenge starting today over at Less is More.  Our theme for this week is Overstamping.  Lots of opportunity here...you can use layer stamps or just stamp over other stamped images.  I don't own any layer stamps so I took another route.  Here's my take on the challenge...

This was a quick and easy card.  I simply stamped my main images with Pigment Ink, then stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink.  Super simple!

Here's a close up of the image.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

ATCAS - Leaves

Well, I'm ready for this latest heatwave to be over...it is fall after all!  We have a new challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS!  Our theme for this challenge is Leaves...since it doesn't seem like fall at the moment, let me create the feeling of fall.  Here's my take on the challenge...

To make this card, I started by sponging some distress ink on some paper.  I then die cut this leaf image.  I have been liking the inlaid die technique so I used it here for both the leaves and the sentiment.  I cut the sentiment from a deep brown card stock.  All in all a pretty simple card!

Here's a close up of the card.  The inlaid die really makes it easy to mail.

Looking forward to seeing your design!

Paper Smooches Spotlight #4

I'm excited to be a guest designer at Paper Smooches...such a fun opportunity.  Here is my fourth and final installment of their newest releases!

Thank you Kim for this opportunity to be a member of your team!

For this card, I did some partial die cutting.  I stamped my image and die cut just the top 3/4 and cut the rest by hand to create the little snow mountain.  I then colored my image with Copic markers added the newest boxed sentiment stamp and the bottom and done.  To add a bit of interest to the card, I added a few snow flakes to the grey background with molding paste.  Pretty simple and easy for mass production!

Here's a close up of the card. You can see I added a bit of foam tape to the white card stock to add a bit of dimension!

This little guy is so sweet...this little frog is just waiting to become a prince!

I stamped him and colored him with my copic markers.  I then masked him and added a bit of distressed ink around him to make him pop.  I then added the speech bubble and heat embossed my sentiment.  I thought it needed a bit more magic...so I added my gold stars.  This is a 4x4 card...he seemed perfect for a smaller card!

Here's a close up of the card.

Don't forget to head on over to YNS and enter a comment to win a stamp set of your choice!

Less is More - Monsters

Wow, another week gone by...isn't it all going by so fast...you know Christmas is almost here!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More!  Our theme for this challenge is Monsters!  One of my favorite themes...just love all the cute monsters stamps that are available!  Here is my take on the challenge...

For this card I started by stamping and coloring my main image with Copic markers.  I then die cut the white card stock and added a bit of foam tape to add some dimension.  I ended up adding a bit of foam tape to each tree but that probably wasn't necessary.  I then popped it up some some 4 x 4 grey card stock.  Pretty quick and easy!

Here's a close up of the image.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Your Next Stamp - Challenge #75

236795961
I'm excited to be a guest designer for Your Next Stamp.

Today we are kicking off our newest challenge.  This is either a color or sketch challenge.  You can pick either one, or combine both. Winners have a chance to receive a gift certificate to use in the store!  How fun is that!

Here's my take on the challenge...I choose to focus on colors!

For this card I choose this cutest little monster from the Silly Birthday Monster Stamp Set!  I picked three colors from the color palette and off I went.  I used my copics to color the image.  I then popped him up on some foam tape and added the little sentiment at the top and bottom of the card.  This is a 4 x 4 card...one of my favorite sizes.  Cute and quick!

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see the dimension of the foam tape I added to pop this little guy up.  Super cute!
